He is a radiation oncologist and director of the Head and Neck Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University, where he also serves as an associate professor. Skilled in advanced radiotherapy techniques, he focuses on head and neck, endocrine, and spine malignancies, including HPV-induced cancers, immunotherapy, and radiation resistance. Committed to service, he has led human rights initiatives, co-founded an educational nonprofit, and participated in Pelotonia, riding over 100 miles to raise funds for cancer research. Dr. Kita Sallabanda is a world-renowned neurosurgeon and the recently appointed President of the European Society of Neurosurgery (EANS). With a career spanning over four decades, he is recognized for his expertise in neurosurgery and radiosurgery, and his work has significantly advanced the field.
Dr. Sallabanda has contributed to landmark research, including award-winning studies on ventriculoperitoneal and lumboperitoneal shunts in adults with normal-pressure hydrocephalus. He co-authored Radiosurgery: Fundamentals, Technological Advances, Indications, and Results, now in its second edition, which is considered an essential reference in the field.
As an educator, he serves as Director of the Master’s in Central Nervous System Radiosurgery at the Complutense University of Madrid, leads the Radiosurgery School of SENEC, and presides over the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery. In 2023, he directed the 2nd edition of the SENEC “Radiosurgery School” in Granada and was unanimously appointed President of the SRS section of EANS.
His achievements have earned him the Gold Medal of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain, the Commendation of the Order of Civil Merit, and recognition as Consul of Spain in Tirana. Dr. Sallabanda’s career combines clinical excellence, innovative research, and dedication to training the next generation of neurosurgeons.

Prof. Kurti focuses on applying digital technologies to drive innovation across domains, with a central research interest in sustainable digitalization. His work emphasizes data-driven approaches for business innovation. He has led and participated in numerous research projects, securing €8.5 million in funding from agencies including EU EACEA, EU H2020, Vinnova, Wallenberg Foundation, and FORMAS. Currently, he leads two EU Horizon projects enhancing AI and IoT for forestry management, spanning the entire value chain from resource management to end products. Prof. Kurti has published over 70 peer-reviewed works, serves on editorial boards, and is active in international conference committees. He frequently delivers invited talks in academic and industrial settings, contributing significantly to advancing research and innovation.
